CentOS 5.3 is a slight update.<br />Installation went flawlessly on VirtualBox. Boot time was very long (about 2 minutes). Once booted, the system was very responsive and used only 130 megabytes of RAM.<br />This distribution uses outdated software (2.6.18, GNOME 2.1, OOO 2.3, etc...), so there is no reason to choose it, even for mission-critical computing. Take a look at Ubuntu 8.04 or SUSE Enterprise 11.<br />Here's the video demonstration:<br /><object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cw2s9M3nXak&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cw2s9M3nXak&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>nik-demhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07054118321366776189noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800151015807868457.post-29793291512450979772009-03-30T12:06:00.001-07:002009-03-30T12:06:50.310-07:00Tiny Core Linux 1.2 Review<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eiyXbdrSBJo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eiyXbdrSBJo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>nik-demhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07054118321366776189noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800151015807868457.post-9974429797084776062009-03-30T12:04:00.000-07:002009-03-30T12:05:47.618-07:00SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 Review<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ITboCEC2aVs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ITboCEC2aVs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>nik-demhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07054118321366776189noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800151015807868457.post-37409523257838537562009-03-30T12:01:00.000-07:002009-03-30T12:04:29.317-07:00Ubuntu 9.04 Beta review<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rIpxEqMudPs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rIpxEqMudPs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>nik-demhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07054118321366776189noreply@blogger.com0
